Please use proper language as you agreed to when signing up.  "b4", "idk" etc. are not acceptable.

The root is the top level of the directory tree:

..Sorry for my grammar, but I read through that article from Wikipedia. As reading this, I beleive that I understand what it is saying, but just to be positive..when i click extract, I click "My Computer." After that, I will click on "Sansa e270R (H:)" Then, I click "OK" If I am wrong about this process, please tell me, I dont want to screw anything up.

OK, I have just finished extracting the files onto my device. I unplugged the mp3 player, and it automatically turned off and bac on. Then, it went through a "Refresh Database" phase. After that, the original menu came up that was on  the player before. Is it right? or, when it says "you will be presented with the Main Menu" in the "Quick Start" section of the manual, should I be seeing a different menu than before?

Please READ the posting guidelines.  They say no double posting.  This is your second warning.

Have you installed the bootloader?  Have you in fact read the manual?

That's entirely up to you.  However, if you are interested in further help you will need to be much more specific than "I do everything it says, but it doesn't seem to want to work".

Yes, please just provide more details as to what you are doing, and we will gladly help you as promptly as possible.
And, in my opinion, you would be missing out without rockbox. :)

ok, I am going to attempt to try this again. To make sure that I am doing it right, how do you tell it is in manufacturer mode? I hold down select (with hold switched on) as I am plugging it into my computer. After that I wait for about 10 seconds (as it says) and let go. It doesnt look any different than it does when i just plug it in. Is it right?
