This is a problem I've had since I started using Rockbox about a year ago, but I could never muster the courage for posting in the forums. But now I've decided to give it a shot.
As the topic states, I've got an 1Pod Video 30GB, and whenever I try to initialize the Database, the iPod turns off before it finishes. When I turn the iPod back on, I still have about half a battery left. The same thing will happen if I try to initialize again, except taking my batter to very low. This same problem happens when I try to use the new PictureFlow demo. During the preparing album artwork screen, the iPod will turn off 1/5 of the way through. But with PictureFlow, the battery will be very low after I restart the iPod.
I'm not sure if it's related, but my iPod also has a tendency to turn off during playback even when the battery icon still shows around 60%-70% battery left. Turning it back on gives me the low battery mode screen.
I searched the forums to see if this was a common problem, but I haven't been able to find anyone having the same battery problems during this process. I'm wondering if this is truly just that my battery is not strong enough initializing the Rockbox Music and PictureFlow databases, or is it possible there is something else that is causing my iPod to die quickly during these procedures. Do I just have too many songs or something?
Thanks for your time.
