This and the other questions you have asked are covered in the manual.  All available plugins are covered in the manual.

The iPod Touch is a completely different machine than the prior iPods - there is no basis for comparison.

Have a look at these system requirements for an example playstation emulator

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EPSXe#Minimum_system_requirements

Compare these with a dap with dual 80 MHz processor, 32 mb of ram, no floating point unit, no graphics abilities, .....

It is not going to happen.

How would you even play with only 5 buttons and a scroll wheel? It would be extremely awkward...

Wow... people around here have managed to ask for a GBA emulator, NES emulator (actually in the works now!) and even a DS emulator, but nothing came close to you asking for a Playstation 1 emulator!

Actually, an N64 emulator has been requested too. I'd say that comes fairly close. ;)

Honestly, requests of this nature are utterly ridiculous. Can someone lock up shop here before this thread balloons out of control?

Oddly enough, it might not be completely impossible on a certain potential target.

That being said, requesting an emulator is incredibly unlikely to get anyone working on one. Someone has to have a lot of interest to do the work, and odds are good if they have that interest, they'd have already done it if they also had the skill (or would already be working on it.)

A better idea might actually be to find communities around GPL'ed emulators, and see if anyone in the community is interested in porting to Rockbox, instead of the other way 'round (just in general, I wouldn't recommend it for PSX, which isn't likely to work even on the fastest potential targets, there's just enough elbow room there that I could in fact be wrong)
