rockbox having speech?

I am new to rockbox, and I was wondering if it is true that rockbox will make the archos (certain models) talk?  I heard this from a family member and wanted to know for sure if it is true or not.  I am blind and would be very interested to know.

Yes, it does have speech. Look here for a description of the voice UI:

In addition, you can have it saying directory and flie names, by offline preparing little mp3 clips.

Can't find the wiki page about voicing the file names right now, but the above should keep you busy for a while. ;-)
