iPod vid, Altered tagnavi_custom, USB not connecting.

As the subject says, after editing tagnavi_custom on my iPod video, USB is acting strangly.

Connects with no problems here at work (WinXP)
Needs to be connected and have the hold switch toggled to connect at home (WinXP)
Doesn't want to connect to my Ubuntu machine at all (at home)

I've swapped out the cable at home as well as trying different cables. It's worth noting that the same cables that work at home on XP don't want to connect on Ubuntu.

I'm looking for suggestions on what I may have changed while noodling with tagnavi_custom that is causing this behavior. Also, if conventional wisdom is to update, I can try that.  I'm going to take the cable I use here at work home and try it on both machines tonight.

If you modify the name of "tagnavi_custom.cfg" slightly or make a backup and remove it from your player then try again you can test to see if that's indeed what was causing the problem, although I doubt it is.

Yeah, I have no reason to believe tagnavi_custom did it either. I'll try the rename tonight when I get home... Again, everything seems to be working on this machine, which makes me question the USB port or cable.

*edit: Might be time for a new cable. The one the worked at work, works at home as well.
