Ipod Video USB
« on: January 10, 2008, 05:05:15 AM »
I keep having problems with it being recognized from time to time.  It seems to be a Rockbox problem.  It seems to always work when I use it on the Apple OS.

I can switch to the Apple OS, then switch back to Rockbox and it works.  It's almost like something gets stuck after it's been used for a while.  Is this a known problem?

It's to do with the USB stack being in a not completely finished state at the moment. Have patience.

Ahhh....I see said the blind man.   8-) Thanks for the answer.  It tells me three things at once.  Someone already knows about it, it's not my player, and someone is apparently trying to fix it.

It's not so terrible I can't live with it for the moment.  It's more, it's just annoying when it does it.  A simple reboot fixes it for now.

Does anyone know another workaround until the issue is resolved?

My 5g video does this too. A reboot used to always fix it, but I'm having a hard time getting the PC to see my iPod today :(

Could it have anything to do with Vista? I notice it more here at work (Vista) then at home (XP Pro), but I also move music more at work ;)

The work-around IS to reboot into the apple firmware. That's all.
