Rockbox and SSDs

My 30gb ipod 5g's hard drive is on the way out, and rather than buy a new hard drive, I'm looking at picking up a used iAudio X5L. I miss my old iRiver's audio ins.
However, the ZIF vs. Micro IDE connector got me thinking.
They're making new Solid State Disks with the old Micro IDE connector in a 5mm 1.8" package. They're now more readily available, even. Is there any reason (other than cost) that they shouldn't work in the X5 and iRiver?
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820147021
for an example drive.

They will probably work just fine. I see no reason not to.

And there are some threads round here about using Compact Flash cards with a 50Pin to CF adapter.

Buy this (OMG the price has dropped AGAIN!!!)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820211244
and one of those CF to 50 pin ipod adapters (about $15 with shipping off ebay). It will be less than HALF the price of this

Why not keep your 5g iPod and get an adaptor for that?
Cheaper and I am sure the 32GB card will work in that.

Fitting a SSD into H140 will be pretty good :-) Since my music collection is pretty large a exact copy of it on iriver would be awesome. But I'd want a 400GB SSD
