"Unknown" Tags with Vorbis Comments

(1/1)

mightybrick:
I have one album on my iPod Nano whose tags Rockbox will not recognize.  This album was ripped to Ogg Vorbis with Vorbis comments.  All of my other ogg vorbis files have the tags recognized and displayed properly.  I have verified with several programs that the tags are indeed vorbis comments and properly configured.
Here is one of the files whose tags cannot be read:

You will need to remove the .txt from the end of the file (Google wouldn't upload it otherwise).

EDIT: Apparently Google zips the file for download too....

markun:
Probably because one of the tags is over 92kB big (COVERART). Not sure how to solve it (besides removing the cover art)

mightybrick:
markun:  That did it.   I removed the cover are from the extended properties of the tag, and the tags are now recognized.  It's funny, because the cover art wasn't even displayed by the tag editor (MP3Tag).

Lear:
Rockbox only reads the comments it finds on the first "page" in an Ogg Vorbis file (in this case the page is ~4 kB). Since the first comments are for the album art, this is all it sees. The proper fix would be to make a more complete Ogg parser.
