One more vote for USB OTG support
« on: January 09, 2008, 11:23:04 PM »
I just wanted to add one more voice to the chorus of people asking for USB OTG support. I know, maybe some day, but right now it's not a priority.

Anyway kudos on Rockbox--it's just brilliant. I'll be keeping an eye on it!

It's not an issue of voting. It's an issue of "somebody needs the time to do the work, and the person who's been working on it most recently is out of time right now."

I understand. Was not my intention to nag. But as they say, the squeaky wheel gets the oil, and if people stopped asking for it, the perception might be that there is no longer any desire for it.

Not true, the devs know that people want USBOTG, but who's gonna implement it? And by the way, is USBOTG support planned as a part of the GSOC USB stack? I remember reading about how it might be, but that was a while ago.

Thats not how these things work.  It'll get done when someone with the time and skills steps forward.  Asking people who aren't working on it just annoys them.

My comment was inoffensive. If someone wants to get annoyed at it that's not my problem.

My intent was only to remind everyone that the desire for USB OTG is still out there. I am a new member so you guys haven't heard from me before, and right now the lack of USB OTG is the only thing preventing me from switching my F40 exclusively to Rockbox. Forgive me for peeing in the kool-aid.  ::)

I didn't say it was offensive, I said it was annoying.

This thread has nowhere to go but down, so I'm closing it.
