yeah you really rephrase the question because TO ME that asks if you can put "classic" type software on the old ipod videos. Since that question is off topic i wont give you the link but if you search google you can do exactly that

No, you can't.  There is a themed video firmware that mimics the classic, but you cannot put the classic firmware on a video.  They are completely different devices.  However, as you say this is well off topic now.
