Gig F20 not saving any settings.

Hi

as of a couple of weeks ago, my gigabeat F20 is not saving any settings when I power down. As far as i can remember nothing happened to my player to trigger this.  Every time I turn it back on it reverts to the original rockbox settings and theme. Any ideas?

This sometimes happens with filesystem corruption (and the best way to cause this is to unplug your device without having done "Safely remove hardware" first).

Try doing the following :

1) Delete the config.cfg file from the .rockbox folder on the device, and then recreate your settings from scratch.

2) Run a scandisk on the device and make sure you let it fix any errors it finds.

When you say recreate my settings from scratch. Do you just mean power it on and choose my theme, sound and general settings etc?? or do I have to write my own config file??

Just go through the menus and choose whichever settings you did last time, but make sure you've deleted the current config.cfg *first*.
