Toshiba Gigabeat System Error

Can someone please help me!!!!
I´m having a problem with my gigabeat, every time i try to turn the damn thing on, it displays system error 00000001, and i already tried the recovery procedures, but my computer still doesn´t recognize the gigabeat, so i can´t paste the gbsystem folder into it. Please help me!!!! I need my music!!!

I am having the same problem, see the next thread. I suspect that these problems are caused by hard disk drive failure. I have a replacement player on order. When I get it I may try putting in a replacement hard disk drive and letting you know if the hard disk is the problem.

I hope you have all your music backed up.

As a result of this problem after less than a year, I am seriously thinking of reverting to burning 12 hours of mp3 to CDs and using a cheap mp3 player, as these hard drives are expensive to replace. About $60 plus $10 shipping for reconditioned on e-Bay and a lot more expensive elsewhere.

Have you tried the "hotswap"? (taking the hdd out and connect the usb and replace the hdd while its on) thats the "in a nutshell" version. I've had the same issue and it solves most errors. Search is your favorite buddy! lol. Also, you can google your error code and it should be the first result on the page.
