I dont know how to do this. I know this has to be a real sansa e250r. I dont know if e200rpatcher will work for e250r's.

You might have a v2.  What firmware version do you have?

Well this sucks. To answer your question yes i do have a e250v 2  :(. Which is odd. I bought this at Best Buy and the box says SANSA e250R Rhapsody. I had done a little surfing on this problem and i had found some1 else that had the same problem that i have. >:(

I think I am going to go return it. I think they like, Ripped me off an stuff.

This is what he said below:
http://forums.sandisk.com/sansa/board/messageboard.id=e200&thread.id=7768

"We purchased 2 Sansa e250r boxes from BestBuy on black Friday,  opened one up for my daughters xmas present,  and tried to connect to her computer.  It would not connect,  so we looked in the manual, inclosed in the box, which clearly stated "Sansa e200R Rhapsody Quick Start Guide".   It described how to set up MSC (Mass Storage Class) USB connections for Windows XP to recognize the device as a removable disk.   Problem was that there was no such option under the Settings menu.   To make a long story short, we ultimately found out that the actual Sansa model that was in the package, was NOT the Rhapsody model,  but rather the e250v2,  which does not contain the Rhapsody preloads, or any Rhapsody support.  The packaging clearly states e250r, with a BestBuy logo as part of the package carboard,  but the actual unit enclosed is the e250v2.  The correct model number can be found on the back, lower right corner of the Sansa unit,  with the (v2)  in VERY small print after the e250 designation.   I believe another way to find out is to look at the version of the firmware, under the Settings option called "Info".   If the version has a "3" in the first digit, then it is likely to be the v2 model,  not the Rhapsody model."

Bestbuy e250r packaging, but e250V2 inside  ???

Does anybody know if it's possible that a e200R v2 exists?

The v2s are popping up more.  So you might have a Sansa e200R v2 like MarcGuay said.

Hey ganja, does your player have the markings of a v2 as well as Rhapsody/Play For Sure as USB mode options?

well on the back it says e250v2. As for the usb mode options it is
1. Auto Detect
2.MTP
3.MSC                                       REVISED ("I THINK")
 Â                                                              ^
                                                               \/
but when i open the player in msc mode, i see the folder "Service" and in there theres a folder named "Rhapsody".

I  haven't used Rhapsody before. I think I wont really need it though.

I'm confused as to whether or not this is a e200R v2 or just a v2 model.  Anyway, if you have complaints to make to Best Buy you're wasting your breath here.  Go to the store and have a good ol' fashion consumer freak-out (with the receipt, of course), they should give you a refund.

There are a couple of sure fire ways to determine:
1.  If it's an "R" model for Rhapsody and
2:  If it's compatible with Rockbox (v2 vice v1).

The easiest way to determine if it's a Rhapsody model is to look at the menu items of the original firmware.  There will be a "Rhapsody Channels" entry there.  If it's not there, then It's not a Rhapsody model.  Also if you look under settings and USB modes, the Rhapsody models label their modes as "Play For Sure and Rhapsody" whereas the Non Rhapsody models display their modes as MTP and MSC respectively.

Now once you've determined you have either a Rhapsody or Non Rhapsody sansa, you need to determine if it's V1 or V2.

Look at your firmware version.  All V1 Sansas (Rhapsody or not) have a 1.x.x.x version number for their firmware.  Now be aware, the Rhapsody and Non Rhapsody firmware is not interchangable, nor are the installation instructions for Rockbox the same.  But if you have 1.x.x.x firmware on your Sansa E200 or E200R you can install Rockbox on it.

If your firmware version is a 3.x.x.x version number, you are hosed.  It is a V2 version of the player and while there is ongoing effort to port Rockbox to the V2's it's going to take a lot longer to do so (if at all) than the V1's because the V1's were based on the Portaplayer chipset, which already had a Rockbox port for it on another player.  The Chipset for the V2's are known, but there are no other Rockbox players out there utilizing that chipset, so the Rockbox port may or may not take place.  (just like the 2nd gen Ipod Nano's and above aren't supported, and are unlikely to be in the near future)

But you have/had a Service->Rhapsody folder on the player... Is/was there anything inside the Rhapsody folder itself?  It seems strange for that to be there if it's a vanilla model...
