Help with "bricked" Sansa e200
(1/1)
Lauris0692:
My sansa e260 died 6 months ago when I was installing the new firmware, I did everything as it was supposed to, but then the player started taking too long to initialize, the screen turned white with black stripes, recovery mode didn't work, the computer didn't recognize it and it didn't charge. After e-mailing Sandisk Support, they told me that I had to RMA it, but i didnt do it since I dont live in the US and it will be just too complicated..
This week, after months without looking at the sansa, i pressed the power button and it said "battery is too low, the screen will turn off"..something like that.. Then, after putting a friends battery that was completely charged, it didnt work either. Then, when pressing power again, the sandisk logo appeared, and then after 20-30 secs the screen turned white with black stripes. It didn't turn off, so I removed the battery. Then, when pressing power again, only the wheel turned blue, nothing in the screen, and now, it seems to be completely dead again. No recovery mode work, or ultimate fix..
Someone on www.anythingbutipod.com sent me here, any idea?
I have nothing to loose.
Help would be very appreciated, thanks
MarcGuay:
How about searching the wiki for "unbrick"?
Lauris0692:
Recovery and manufacterting mode shown there dont work because the player just doesnt respond to anything.
MarcGuay:
When you say you were installing the "new firmware" do you mean Rockbox or a Sansa update?
zajacattack:
From the description, you appear to be in manufacturing mode. Try using e200tool to recover your Sansa (as described on the Unbrick page).
