sync with wmp11 running on vista

I am fairly new to Rockbox, but I love the product with one big problem.

Windows Media Player 11 doesn't recognize my iPod when I plug it in, and half the time Windows tells me I have to provide the cd that "came with my rockbox media player" while the other half the time I get an error saying my "rockbox media player is unplugged" (even when I have the removable drive showing in my computer and can access all the files on it).

I was wondering if I am doing something wrong. And I also apologize if there is a thread on this matter somewhere else, I couldn't find it.

For the specifics I am running a Vista Ultimate rig with WMP 11 and all the security updates windows has to offer. I am using an iPod 5.5 30gig with the latest RockBox installation.

Please help!!!

As noted elsewhere, rockbox does not yet have a fully functional usb stack for portalplayer devices (including your iPod).  Ignore the driver popups, and boot either the original firmware or disk mode to transfer!sync music.
