Just some questions regarding the music database

it sounds like you are using ipodwizard. Im not too sure but it may cause conflicts with rockbox, but then again when I had mine (IPW w/ 6g split screen  mod) I had no problems. When initializing a database, it takes some time.

--- Quote from: skacannon ---thanks guys for your help, the fact that I can't use rockbox at the same time means I won't really have a need for (1) as I use my iPod (which already has a theme modded to it) to listen to music. And thanks ryran for your advice about themes, I will look into this.

Your database issue may have something to do with your modded iPod firmware (from iPodWizard?) or the content on your iPod.  I had a similar database issue about a month ago after adding some tracks using SharePod.  The only solution that fixed it was a restore on my iPod (un-modded original firmware).  It was a pain to have to add all my content again but I haven't had a database issue since I restored.  Assuming that you have the proper Database settings enabled in Rockbox, I'd recommend doing a restore.

Just out of curiosity, were you able to install Rockbox using iPodPatcher per the Rockbox manual, or did you have to use the iPodLoader for iPodLinux?

I don't have iPod Linux; just the iPod patcher thingy. It's not much of a problem since the only real time I use rockbox is to play GameBoy games...
