Today I plugged in my Sansa e260R to charge it, and it didn't do what I expected. In the past it has always booted into the SanDisk firmware and would then begin charging. However, this time it booted Rockbox. This difference led to two problems. One was that it rather rushed through the percent charge levels, from 57% to 100% in a few seconds, and so I really could not be certain that it was even really charging. More essentially, when plugged in this way the player can no longer be mounted. To work around this I booted the original firmware, and then plugged in the cable and fortunately was able to get things to go as they did before.
I have read through the changelogs back for quite a while, and didn't see anything about usb. I read the manual again, and found nothing different either. I also looked at the FAQ for the e200 port and found a reference still there that the bootloader will detect the cable and boot the original firmware. For this reason I am just not certain that this is the expected behaviour, or if perhaps I have something erroneous going on.
Has a change been made in this area? If not, what perhaps could cause these errors?
Many thanks,
Patrick
