VMware File Locations

Llorean:
Basically, yes.

If you click "View Workgroup Computers" it'll show computers in YOUR workgroup though. You may need to go up a level and see if a second workgroup is visible, as your default one may not be the same as the default one for the VMWare "computer."

Rcdude10tc32:
cool, yea i tried doing the "Add Network Place" where you can have it look for all workgroups connected, still nothing. I've never had good luck with windows file sharing for some reason. Sometimes it works great, other times it doesn't work at all.   I'll figure it out eventually, as long as i know thats how you get the files everything will be cool.

Thanks alot, this thing is building sooo much faster than cygwin.  Its amazing

Mad Cow:
Try typing \\debian\user into the explorer address bar. If that doesn't work, restart the virtual machine.

cool_walking_:
If you can ping the virtual machine's IP, it might be that samba isn't started for some reason ("/etc/init.d/samba restart" to [re]start it).  If you can't ping it, I'd say you've got a firewall blocking you, or VMware's networking thingy isn't working/set up right.
