how to set background on Sansa E200

(1/2) > >>

HockeyBum:
In trying to use the SilkNano from the iconsets, it recommends using the bluebg.bmp.  It does not say HOW to use it.  The Rockboxmanual for Sansa says you can use the backdrop setting, so I tried

backdrop: /bluebg.bmp

in my config files (tried both config.cfg and silk.wps)

But nothing happens.  What am I missing?

Thanks in advance.

bascule:
Presumably, the SilkNano set is for the iPod nano, in which case the background image will be different dimensions than the Sansa screen and thus cannot be set as a background image (it must match the screen size exactly).

MarcGuay:
Try using a theme designed for the e200 series that uses the Silk icon set... or, if you like the default WPS and just want to change the icons, try using the SilkNano iconset without the special background image and see how it looks.

HockeyBum:
Thanks for the prompt responses!
As the SilkNano was listed under Sansa, I thought it was a port.  How can I find out what the proper screen size is?  If I get the correctly-sized .bmp file, then can I assume that my backdrop entry will work?

MarcGuay:
Not sure what or where you mean it was "listed under Sansa", but yes, if you follow the instructions for setting the background using a bitmap of the correct size it should work.  Oh, and for the screen size, I don't know it by heart but it's available all over the place, poke around in the wiki.

p.s.  Once you have the image ready, you can set it in Rockbox by doing a long-select while the bmp is selected and choosing "Set as backdrop".
