Poblem with special characters...

the characters are fine in WPS... Sansa's original firmware displays them correctly as well... I'm gonna try to uninstall Rockbox and install it again.

Why not try what Markun suggested first?

reinstalling Rockbox does not help... rebuilding database fails too. Strangely enough when I enter ID3 tag info in Rockbox, all characters are encoded incorrectly (Artist name, title, album title) except the ones in file's path: MUSIC/Album/File -  here, Rockbox encodes them correctly.   ???

Will sending you one of the files that is encoded incorrectly help?

Do you know which version ID3 tags these files have (like ID3v1, ID3v2.3 or ID3v2.4)? Are there differences?

they have both id3v2 and id3v1


ok, so I changed ALL tags to UNICODE... effect = now all special characters do NOT work... :'(
