What folder do I copy audio files to after installing rockbox?

(1/1)

jackb:
Hello all-

i'm a total noob when it comes to rockbox, i've recently installed it on an e260 and freaking love it.
I can't however figure out where to copy audio files to the device. I see folders for video, photos, etc but no more music folder, however I can easily find the music already on the device through rockbox. Any help would be great,

thanks again

jack

You can put music anywhere, including the MUSIC folder, the only thing is, you have to tell rockbox to view hidden files and folders by going to Settings->General Settings->File View->Show files and selecting "All".

Please please please please please search in future.  This is asked at least once a week.

You can put the files anywhere you like.  Having said that there is a folder called Music on the device which the OF sets to hidden everytime you boot it.  You can see this in rockbox by setting the file view to all (see the manual for how), and you can check google for how to see hidden folders in windows/linux etc.

A better solution would be to use another folder such as "My Music" or "Audio" or whatever you want.  The OF will still see the music but not hide the folder, and thus you will be able to see the folder in rockbox with the file view setting on supported.

Many thanks to you both for helping, sorry about the repeated question!

Rockbox FTW!
