Confused Battery?

My iPod is confused and a bit scared. When I switch it on, rockbox boots, everything is fine... only the battery charge is what it was before I switched it off - 20%. Then over the course of 10 minutes, it keeps going up... till it's whatever it's supposed to be. Very confusing!

Anyone got any ideas? It seems to be doing the same thing in the original ipod firmware.

My iAudio X5 does the same. I doubt that it is anything bad.

What model iPod is it?

According to Apple, older models won't give you the correct battery life until the hard drive has started spinning and transferring data.
