CHKDSK - no problems

I am not sure what to do with Cygwin.

I put $ svn checkout svn://svn.rockbox.org/rockbox/trunk -r

Got an error than svn command not found

Edit:

OK, I've downloaded an SVN application and grabbed a sourcecode for 09-09-06.

Now, according to the instructions i have to type "make". It says again "no command found".

I am about to give up on this; it's too complicated, and the instructions are not easy to follow...

May be someone could compile a code and post it?

EDIT:

figured out I had to create some makefile (???).

Typed ../tools/configure

Here is what I've got:

$ ../tools/configure
../tools/configure: line 10: $'\r': command not found
../tools/configure: line 13: $'\r': command not found
../tools/configure: line 16: $'\r': command not found
../tools/configure: line 18: $'\r': command not found
../tools/configure: line 22: syntax error near unexpected token `$'{\r''
'./tools/configure: line 22: `input() {

svn and make should be in your development environment if you followed the CygwinDevelopment instructions. It sounds like you've missed step 2.1.

just like SVN, "make" is a program. Cygwin isn't a whole package, its a utility that lets you install a unix-like system in windows and download packages ("make", "svn", and "gcc" would be some of them) into the cygwin environment.

Just to judge what experience you have: Have you ever used Linux, BSD, or Unix?

Since you don't seem to have the svn and make programs installed, it seems you didn't complete step 2.1 of the guide properly.  Run Cygwin's setup.exe, and install all the packages listed under "Step 2.1: Package selection." on CygwinDevelopment, and probably follow the subsequent steps as well, just to make sure you have everything you need.

I've no experience with either Unix, Linux or BSD.

But the problem is fixed. I've ended up reformatting hard drive, installing the current build and reloading the music.
The issue has disappeared.

I am not sure why or what exactly caused it but I have an idea that the music files added or removed since I first installed Rockbox somehow confused the application after it had been upgraded.

The only question I have: do I need to update original Apple g=firmware to the latest version?

I am on 1.1.2, and the most current one is 1.2.3, I believe.

I wonder what the others think about it, as I have just seen a post that describes the same issue after an update.

Thank you all for help, and again, I am sorry for my previous frustration.
