My iPod Nano is not responding.
« on: January 04, 2008, 09:18:21 AM »
I updated my existing rockbox to the latest build on my 2gb nano.(using the manual method. )
And I left it plugged into my pc to fully recharge.
and when I disconnected it, the screen went blank and nothing happens after that.

I connected it to the pc again but nothing happens and when I hold MENU+CENTER for few seconds,I hear a click sound but nothing appears on the screen.

Any ideas how to get it working.......  :'(

I changed your message topic to something with a little more information and a lot less shouting.

Despite you leaving your Nano plugged into charge - there is a distinct possibility you have a very dead battery.  I could speculate for hours, but the first ideas which pop into my head are:
1 - Faulty USB port.
2 - Faulty Cable.
3 - Dead (as in Dillinger) battery.

If you aren't seeing /anything/ on your screen at the moment you describe hearing a "click" (you should be able to see the Apple logo even if the backlight doesn't come on) - then possibly the screen is damaged.

Still - this is all speculation, but the first course of action I would take would be to track down and attempt an alternative charging method.  (Wall charger?  Someone elses' computer?  Different USB cable.)

i don't think my screen is damaged because if it is the screen, i should hear music when i boot into apple firmware(by guessing ) and keep on pressing center button.
isn't it? ???

OOOOOOK
I got it working.heres what i did.

I left it connected to the pc overnight without turning the pc on.(I think that drained the ipod's battery completely.)And then i turned the pc on in the morning.
Every thing worked as usual.

 ;D ;D ;D
