Would like some help
« on: January 03, 2008, 05:40:14 PM »
I went looking to see if there was way to change my sansa e250 background and came across this site and i went to read the instruction and became a little confused so i was wondering if someone could  write the instructions down in an easy to understand fashion.

I would be glad to. Please explain the parts that you do not understand.

OK, first off, is your Sansa an R series? To check, go to Settings->Mode
If it says "Rhapsody" and "PlaysForSure", it's an R series.
If it says "MSC" and "MTP", it's a vanilla one.
Also, check your firmware version. If it is 3.x.x.x, it's a v2. If it's 1.x.x.x, it's a v1.

OK, it's quite simple then. Download sansapatcher at http://download.rockbox.org/bootloader/sandisk-sansa/sansapatcher/win32/sansapatcher.exe
Then, connect your Sansa, run sansapatcher, and tell it to install the bootloader. Now, DO NOT DISCONNECT YOUR SANSA! Download a current build and unzip it to the root of your player. Verify that a folder named ".rockbox" (MAKE SURE IT HAS THE PERIOD!) is on the root of your players (in Windows Explorer). If it is, disconnect your Sansa, and you're done! If it's not, there was a problem.
