sandisk view 8g compatibility question

i want to buy a sansa. i ponder between sansa e280 and sansa view 8g.
i know that rockbox supports e280 but i dont know if it supports sansa view 8g and if not,
will it in the future rockbox will support it, cos its a new mp4 player.
