Got to the bootloader step and...
« on: January 02, 2008, 11:16:15 PM »
Hello all... I'm making the jump to Rockbox, but I'm getting hung up...

Following the instructions here:
http://download.rockbox.org/manual/rockbox-ipodvideo/rockbox-buildch2.html#x4-90002.3
(manual method, cause I'm hardcore)

I've gotten to the linux bootloader link:
http://download.rockbox.org/bootloader/ipod/ipodpatcher/linux32x86/ipodpatcher

When I click it, there's no downloading. Only a screen full of this:
y' D$ D$

I'm so close! Help a brother out!

Instead of left-clicking the link, try right-clicking and selecting "Save Link As..." or "Save Target As...".

Thanks for the reply SD. I figured that out this morning in the shower (I do my best thinking in there).

Here's a continuation of the question... I'm at work now... away from my Ubuntu machine... Can I follow the boot loader instructions for Windows? There shouldn't be a difference in daily use, right?

(edit)
Never mind... I stopped worrying and just did it. Worked great and I'm enjoying Rockbox on my iPod
