Playback issues with last builds since early December on Iriver H140

Since I installed one of the builds in early December I have noticed my Iriver H140 starts sttutering when playing in Shuffle Mode at the beginning of any OGG file. I have a mix of of mp3 and Ogg files and it happens every time the player ends one mp3 file and tries to start an Ogg file. I have tried during the whole month of December with different recent builds and the player keeps hanging up. The only way I manage to listen to the Ogg files is pressing Stop and Play back again... I wonder what the solution may be.

Thanks, I posted a reply on the other topic following the link you gave me, but I think that one is on the wrong forum. Maybe a Mode could move and merge it to this one as the problem is quite similar and this is the right forum for discussing it.

EDIT:
Just did the CHKDSK but can't see the results as the windows shuts down as soon as it finished checking. Maybe if someone lets me know how to get the info from the process I could know...

Well, I keep having the problem. Maybe updating to your version should do it. Where can I download it? Is that latest one?

It's always worth trying the latest one...

I also am unable to repro a problem with alternating OGGs and MP3s.  What bitrates are you using?

Will try that, although I did keep installing  several different builds during December and prob stayed. My OGG are all q5 and most MP3 are 128 - 160 Kpbs.

This issue seems to be the same one as described in FS#8260. It seems to have been introduced by r15444 (confirmation welcome). Increasing the default chunksize has helped in some cases, but not solved the problem. It is belied that the issue is in the thread scheduling and priority, but by attempts to fix it have been unsuccessful so far.
