And, not to get into a "mine's bigger than yours" war, but I've about 23000 tracks and the database works fine.

FWIW, I have "Max Playlist Size" set to 20000 (in case I want to do a shuffle of all tracks, or thereabouts) and "Max Files In Dir Browser" set to 1000, mainly because the scroll accelaration resets every 1000 tracks, and I need all the help navigating I can.

Do any of your songs have embedded album art? That might be causing the database to freeze up because of the large tags that hold the album art.

Max Files = 10,000
Max Playlist size = 32,000

I have even deleted all the song files on it and replaced them with only 1 album - 10 tracks encoded in mp3. No embedded artwork. Still have the same problem.

Its bizarre, everything else works fine except the database.

Where are these maximum settings you are both referring to? I can't seem to find them (and, yes, I did search).

@yulenz: you are working with a current SVN, correct?

I am using software version r15613-071114 if that's what you mean.

That is 4 months out of date.  Please update and try again, MANY bugs have been fixed in that time.  There is a reason we ask you to test with an up-to-date build - so that we don't all waste time investigating bugs that may/have been fixed.
