Doom Install - 5gen Ipod Video

(1/2) > >>

tooskinneejs:
I tried searching through the forums, and I didn't see an answer, so I thought I would try posting. Basically, I installed rockbox (using the latest utility installer on a Mac) onto my 5gen Ipod Video. The installation worked fine (rockbox loads up correctly and I chose to load on rockdoom), however I cannot for the life of me figure out where to put the doom wad file. People (as well as the FAQ) say to put it into the .rockbox/games/doom directory...however when I connect the ipod to my computer, all I see are the ipod folders (calendar, etc.) --in disk mode. I tried creating a folder called "Games"...and a sub-folder called "Doom"...but the wad file won't load from there. I'm sure I'm being an idiot, but I really don't know what I'm doing wrong. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

EDIT #1:
Figured it out.

Since I was browsing files on my Mac, I couldn't see the hidden file folders (for whatever reason). I hooked the iPod up to a PC and bam...good to go. Does anyone know how to view the hidden files in OS X?

EDIT #2:
Figured out how to view hidden files on a Mac. The program TinkerTool allows you to toggle off/on hidden files in the Finder.

I have a sansa e280R and I didn't have the \games\ directory in mine so I created them and I put the wad files in there and I open rockdoom and it still says "the base wad is missing."
Can anyone help me?
Thanks,
Bensawsome

Thanks. You know I was looking around for that kind of thing but I couldn't seem to find that. Thanks  ;D

Sorry, I'm not the smartest guy here. I want Doom on there and I went to the link that Yapper gave me and it says create new directory, whats it mean by that? New folder? Should be easy to answer.
