no charge indicator on screen when charging

Thanks for you help..  I recently installed rockbox on my X5L, only to find that when I plug it in to the wall charger, there's no charge indicator on screen and the little button like indicator on the top of the player doesn't light up either.  Is this normal?  Is my player charging, or is there something else I have to do?

Can you give more details? I'm not even sure what you mean - do you mean a charging indicator when plugging the charger while Rockbox is running or when the player is shut off?

If you mean "while Rockbox is running" - I believe the so-called "powermanagement" code isn't a hundred percent complete on the Iaudios. Personally I just let the built-in part of the original firmware (which is not touched during the Rockbox installation) do the charging of my M5. Just plug the charger while the unit is shut off and it will charge (you'll see the original charging screen).
