Sansa e260 formated wit NTFS
« on: December 30, 2007, 12:18:42 AM »
Hello,

I format may Sansa e260 with NTFS. I'm trying to format an old Disk and instead of these I format the connected Sansa.

How can I reformat the COMPLETE Sansa?

This "/e200tool recover BL_SD_BOARDSUPPORTSD.rom" will work fine, but it will not go in the recovery mode.

Regards
Gerhard

PS: sorry for my bad englsich

So, let me see if I understand. You accidentally formatted your Sansa to NTFS, now it won't boot and you cannot get it to boot to recovery mode at all (even with e200tool), correct?

yes. I can get in manufactoring mode an use e200tools but it is impossible to get in recovery mode.

I don't see how the existing file system on the player has anything to do with using e200tool and manufacture mode. It should work no matter what.

Perhaps the bootloader can't understand and read the NTFS file system and won't load?

In manufacture mode nothing is attempted to be read from "disk" and thus it doesn't care about file system.

The bootloader that is used for recovery mode is stored on "disk" so of course that won't work - it requires FAT.
