Linux on player?
« on: December 27, 2007, 09:44:27 PM »
I found a statement that said that RockBox was built from a Linux distribution.

I don't quite get how that's possible,
But that might explain all the extra applications available to it.

My question is if this is true than could you setup something like terminal, Yum, or other Linux tools?

I don't expect that you could but how cool would that be?

Any thoughts, suggestions, or ideas on this topic would be appreciated.

The Rockbox team have written their own kernel. It's nothing like the Linux kernel. So Rockbox is not Linux.
Details on the kernel can be found at http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/RockboxKernel
