Rockbox Bootloader/Utility For 5th generation IPOD

<< < (2/2)

Chronon:
If you are looking for installation instructions they can be found in the manual.  Rockbox Utility does indeed support the iPods -- it will install the bootloader as well as extract a current firmware build and themes if you like.  I would strongly suggest that you don't format your drive unless you have a real reason for doing so.  Just follow the installation instructions if you would like Rockbox on your player.

MorganFreeman:
I ended up finding the program i was looking for. Here is a link to that site:
http://download.rockbox.org/bootloader/ipod/ipodpatcher/win32/ipodpatcher.exe
It's called ipodpatcher.exe and is used to install rockbox on your ipod.

Rockbox Utility supports all players Rockbox is developed for (except those we don't provide binaries due to the early stage of the port). It does not allow formatting the player but it doesn't do this on any supported player. If your version of Rockbox Utility only supports the players you mentioned it is horribly outdated. Please update all software first before asking ... like Rockbox, Rockbox Utility is improved all the time and new players are added when necessary.

ipodpatcher does *not* install Rockbox on your player, it only installs the bootloader. Rockbox Utility has ipodpatcher built-in, so you can install the bootloader and Rockbox itself (the build) using Rockbox Utility.
