Rockbox Bootloader/Utility For 5th generation IPOD
MorganFreeman:
I was using rockbox and I placed the rockbox files on my 5th generation IPOD color. What do I use to make it so the rockbox works on my IPOD and where can I find it? I was attempting to use the Rockbox Utility but it does not have options for formatting IPODs. Thanks
Chronon:
Rockbox Utility will install the bootloader.
Are you saying that your iPod does not currently work (i.e. why do you need to format it)? You were using Rockbox previously and now it doesn't work? Please explain your situation further. It's difficult to provide any assistance when so much guesswork is involved.
MorganFreeman:
Originally I had Rockbox files loaded onto my Ipod. I needed a program that would make it so Rockbox could run. It would format my ipod or something like that.
Occasionally something would glitch and rockbox would still boot up, but none of my music files would appear, even though they were still on the ipod. I would use the program i previously mention to reformat the ipod with rockbox, and the music files would show up again. I lost that program, and I think it was called the rockbox bootloader.
This is the problem i encounter now. It displays the list of artists and records, but no tracks are displayed.
melancholydm:
i dont recall RButility being able to reformat any players. essentially the utility allows you to INSTALL various things so that rb can run in your player. did you upload your songs via itunes? if so, you can find your songs thru database
MorganFreeman:
The rockbox utility does not have options for the ipod, only for the archos and iriver players. What should i use, or is there a file i can download so i can use the utility?
