Ipod 5g Having Weird Problem
« on: December 26, 2007, 10:29:08 AM »
I have ipod 5.5g with updated rb firmware from yesterday. The problem is that the ipod doesnt respond. The backlight is off, no sound from line out, no response to button commands so I cant reboot, but when I plug it in into my pc I get the driver prompt. Btw I didn't do anything with the ipod before hand other than listening to some music.

Turn the hold switch on and then off again, and then press and hold Menu and Select simultaneously for up to 30 seconds until your player reboots.  If this doesn't work, plug it into the charger for a couple of hours and then try again.

Could possibly be related to recent backlight changes on the iPod.  Search the forums for "ipod backlight".
