h140 remote on h115?

Hi.
My h140 was fried due to a rather unfortunate rain-iRiver interface about 4 months ago. I received a new h115 last night from eBay, and the h140 remote doesn't seem to be lighting up. It is controlling the h115 just fine, I can change the volume, FF-REW, go to settings.. everything. Just doesn't come on.
Same issue in the stock iRiver FW and Rockbox (latest build).. is the remote messed up, or is the h115 unable to drive the remote LCD?

The remote is the same for all models, so I guess there is a hardware fault somewhere.

Did you check the Remote LCD setting?
