How to make Apple OS dominant firmware?

(1/2) > >>

RogerMurdock:
Hey guys, I just just reinstalled rockbox on my ipod after quite awhile without updating (I just formatted the entire thing for the reinstall).

I was getting some errors during installation, but I fixed it and now it seems to be working ok.  Except, right now when I reboot I have to press hold for it to boot into the Apple Firmware,  and it automatically boots into rockbox.  I would like it to be the other way around, where it automatically boots into Apple, and I have to press hold to use Rockbox.

Is there a relatively simple way to change this?  I'm pretty sure you used to be able to simply check a box that said make the Apple OS dominant.  If not I'm willing to just restore and reinstall, I haven't really changed anything on the ipod yet.

Thanks for the help

MarcGuay:
Search the forums for "reverse bootloader"... There's an unsupported way to do what you want...

Febs:
I've never understood why the so-called reverse bootloader is even necessary for the iPod. Once you boot into the Apple firmware, the Apple firmware will continue to start until you reset the iPod.

Spanky:
You could get the IPL Loader and set the default way to start in the cfg file. It is a really nice addition to RockBox and the both of them make my iPod so much more enjoyable.

psycho_maniac:
You could, but if you have problems/questions about it. As that program is not supported here.
