(1/1)

r4ster:
Well I have ipod photo, plugged by usb, but there is no way, my windows xp, can install drivers. It detects the rockbox media player, but cant find drivers to it.
Any sugestions appreciated.

robin0800:
Your suposed to tell windows to ignore it and not promot you again.

I din't do that I installed it as a generic disk and it seems to be fine.
Of course windows never finds this generic disk only an I pod connected through usb.

PaulPosition:
Rockbox doesn't yet manage usb file transfer. Parts of the work has been done, but just enough so that it could draw enough juice to recharge batteries.

To transfer file, you still need to use the original firmware's facilities (see manual as I don't know enough about ipod to guide you through it).

From the manual

--- Quote ---Your player should enter disk mode automatically when connected to a computer via USB. If your computer does not recognise your player, you may need to enter the disk mode manually. Disconnect your player from the computer. Reset the player by pressing and holding the Menu and Select buttons simultaneously. As soon as the player resets, press and hold the Select and Play buttons simultaneously. Your player should enter disk mode, and you can try reconnecting to the computer.
