Music wont work

Whenever i start a song it either gives an error or freezes within 3 seconds.
(also how to i shuffle on Rockbox)

What is the error message?
What type of sound file?
Is it DRM protected?

Explain yo'self.

And for the shuffling question you can search the manual.

Ok then...4 examples
Audioslave - Be Yourself - 3 seconds - Data abort at 000005a0 (0)
Megadeth - Sweating Bullets - 1 second - Undefined instruction at 0016C104 (0)
Godsmack - Serenity - 5 seconds - Freeze
Loudness - Crazy Night - 24 seconds (wow) - Prefetch abort at 98960612 (0)

Please help me fix it, i really like rockbox and dont want to delete it.

A simpleton's approach: perhaps wipe Rockbox out completely and start all over, being sure to follow the written instructions carefully (even if you don't think you need them) and using the latest code.

Ok well i completly wiped Rockbox and reinstalled it. I was using the most up to date boot loader both times. I thought i had fixed it but...

Type of sound file?

The same files play fine in the apple firmware and on your computer?

Is the drive on your player near-full capacity?

Are you sure that you are using the build for the 30 GB iPod Video and not the 60/80 GB iPod Video?

Mp3s, yes they work on iTunes, no its not even 1/10th capacity. And yes im sure its for my 30gb.

When you reinstalled Rockbox, did you use ipodpatcher or Rockbox Utility.

When turning on your iPod, after the apple logo shows up, press the |<< button, and see what version the bootloader tells you you're running.
