"Database not Ready" on iAudio X5
« on: December 23, 2007, 10:59:12 PM »
I just wrote a long post and I didn't save it and it ate it up. >:(

Sorry about how incoherent this may be but I am really pissed off.

-upgraded to SVN build: r15969-071223
-attached my tagnavi file
-deleted all my tagcache files
-message only pops up when the last screen before shutdown is the database
-Pertinent database debug info:
 Progress: 99%(2398 entries)
 Commit step:0
-dircache is on
-database is autoupdate and loaded to RAM
* tagnavi.cfg (8.92 kB - downloaded 113 times.)

If the database is not generating, have you added any files recently?

Oh, forgot to add that the database works fine and generates. The message just comes up on startup. I did also add some files, but they all appear to be working fine. They are MP3's and some OGG's. These are the first OGG's I added.

My settings are set to go to the "previous" screen on startup. If the LAST screen I am is the database menu and I shutdown and turn on again, I get "Database is not ready". However, the database seems to work perfectly fine. The same thing happens if I go to the top database menu, go back to the main menu, then turn off, and then turn the X5 back on.

If the LAST screen I am is something else like "Settings", then I don't get "Database is not ready" on startup and the database seems to work perfectly fine.

Please use the "Modify" button, rather than posting twice. This is made clear in the guidelines.

Sorry about that. Anyway, I tried a whole bunch of things. I turned dircache off and then back on after a restart. I tried deleting the database files from within the player. I tried the default tagnavi.config file.

It still gets stuck on 99% (2380 entries) and gives the "database not ready" message after a shutdown from the database menu. What is this "entries" number exactly? I have around 1200 songs.

EDIT: SORRY!
I got a Toshiba Gigabeat F40 and I am experiencing the same problems again.
