Video help

hi, i just winff'ed the movie 300 into a mpeg file and put it on my player.
i've done a couple movies before and they work fine, but with this one i can start to play it from the start, but as soon as i try to resume or start it at a certain minute, it shows that its 71000 minutes long (that's almost 50 days long lol) which it is clearly not. so it says "loading" forever and never actually loads. what do you guys think is going on?
oh, and if i play the mpg on my computer the video works.. soo
