I will keep looking too and I'm asking questions from the manufacturers that make zif 1.8-2.5 IDE to see if they would make an adapter. As it stands my Gigabeat is basically full and it would be less expensive to buy several gigabeats than get a large hdd.

nope.  the connections on the hd in the iriver are 50 pin female, also the connction is on the short side of the drive, also it's too high, if you are going for the larger ones.
