80GB HD 'toshiba mk8010gah' - suitable for iriver h140?
polluxx2006:
hi folks,
im currently thinking of replacing my 40GB hd
in my iriver h140 with an 80GB hd. can anybody tell
me what models are suitable or what i have to be aware of
when choosing such a drive?
at the moment i can get a toshiba mk8010gah - does this work with the iriver h140?
cheers
polluxx
LambdaCalculus:
Look for an MK8007GAH drive instead; it has the proper 50-pin connector and will fit perfectly inside the case.
The MK8010GAH has a ZIF connector, so without a ZIF-ATA adaptor, you can't just drop it into the iriver.

Ain't cheap.... http://www.impactcomputers.com/mk8007gah.html
Would be cheaper to to get the mk8009GAH and an adapter.

$400 DOLLARS?? Madness, I say!

Good luck finding an adapter. :(
Span.com told me via email that no one is producing them. You have to make one yourself. If this fact changes and someone does commercially produce a ZIF to 50 pin (female) adapter please post a link! :)
