Formatted Gigabeat won't show up in windows explorer (it used to)
« on: December 20, 2007, 08:10:54 AM »
I had to partition my player in order to create a drive with smaller cluster size to put a load of text files on it. It worked well but then I deleted the main partition by mistake and now the player won't show up as e: as it used to do. Any idea how I can get it back? Thanks.

It's hear:

but can't you just recreate the first partition?

It worked!  ;D The hot swapping technique did it. I found some more links that give a slightly different version of the method:

http://www.mygigabeat.com/forum/messages.cfm?threadid=EFA26D8B-3048-2906-EAC99CB9D4C0DAC1

for the record: after I plugged the USB I reconnected the HD then turned HD on then turned the Gigabeat on and windows when 'bling' with the drive popping up. (different from what era in the methods linked).
And now it works again. Great!
