The Nano build states that it is for both 1st and 2nd gens, is this true? It is not reading when I open the ipodpatcher, and it is in disk mode with the build put into the Ipod correctly, what is wrong?

No, it doesn't say that.  Rockbox doesn't support the second-generation Nano.
