5.5 G iPod Video w/ 80 Gigs "no partition found. insert usb cable and fix it."
« on: December 19, 2007, 09:33:27 PM »
I installed JBuild on my iPod because he has the best skins and themes in my opinion. I would really appreciate it if someone would tell me what is happening and how to fix it. He does have a 64 mb build in his directory and I tried it and even that doesn't work. I just keep getting this message over and over and over again.

I have installed iPodLinux on it as well with iLaunch. It's booting alongside the original Apple Firmware and the Rockbox Firmware. I had no idea where else to post this since there is no topic made by the creator in the Unsupported Builds forum. I would appreciate any help I can get.

Thanks!

Unsupported builds are unsupported.  Are you able to acces disk mode?  Please put an official current build on then we can try again.

I don't knwo what iLaunch is.  If it is a different bootloader, it is unsupported.  The bootloader is important for setting up and initialising hardware so tht rockbox then runs correctly.  Please install the rockbox bootloader (which can also boot iPod linux) and try again.  If you still have problems let us know.

Just as an additional information about what is happening (and for further reference):
It's pretty simple - the JBuild is very old and was recently removed from the unsupported builds board for this reason. Its last update was made before the 80GB Ipod Videos were supported which needed special treatment in the code.
