But I've been holding it since then and it hasn't displayed Recovery Mode. :/

What has happened? If nothing is happening, you should just disconnect and try again.

My computer said it's found a new USB device, but the LCD screen on my e260 has displayed nothing.

OK, try going to Device Manager, under libusb-win32 Devices, uninstall the one there, then go right-click Universal Serial Bus controllers and select "Scan for hardware changes"
