First off, once I got going on installing Rockbox, it only took maybe 5 mins from step one of the install to me rebooting my Sansa e280 to the Rockbox firmware. Kudos to the great install process that I found to be very simple once I got going. Unzipping a couple files and running the exe was really easy. I only had a small issue prior to beginning the install...
My confusion before starting the install was whether or not I had the Rhapsody version. I recently purchased my e280 to replace my old-style e260. The back of my Sansa said Rhapsody, and the model number was e280R in the bottom right corner on the back. So I thought I had to follow the Rhapsody instructions. But, instead of jumping into the install, I figured I'd read through the forums to see what types of issues I could run into, and I came across a bunch of people having issues with the Rhapsody install. After reading these posts, I came to the conclusion that I really didn't have a Rhapsody version even with all the Rhapsody branding on the back of my Sansa - my USB modes were still MSC/MTP. I couldn't find a post 100% confirming this, so I took a leap and tried the non-Rhapsody process and it worked fine.
I just wanted to suggest updating the Sansa Rockbox Manual with notes regarding this in the Rhapsody section - that branding on the back of the device may be misleading, but rather the USB Mode options seem to be the true determination of Rhapsody models.
