can someone plz help with my audio problem

(1/1)

Markusonfire:
Hi there, this is my first post.
I installed Rockbox on my 1st gen Ipod min. And i love it, it really unlocks the full potential.
But i have a small problem thats really annoying with mp3 playback.
when i play albums from folders in the file mode, i have no problems, but when i try to play these albums through the database mode, it cuts out about every 4 seconds, then resumes. Does anyone know what causes this? if so, are there any setings i can tweak to prevent it?
Its a grayscale screen so ofcourse i dont have any elaborate WPS, plus none of the mp3s are above 192 quality. I dont undertand why this problem occurs only in the database mode and not in file mode.
any help appreciated,
Mark

safetydan:
What version of Rockbox are you using? Are you using a WPS with peakmeters (the little bars that go back and forth on the WPS)? Do you have any sound effects like the equalizer or cross-feed enabled?

Markusonfire:
i  am using daily-build r15930-071215 but the problem also occurs with the current build. I use a simple wps with no peak bars. No equaliser and no crossfade.
The weird thing is that the problem only happens when i play the albums in database mode, in file mode it only skips once or twice.
Thanks fo your help so far, any other ideas? ???

Febs:
This is a bit of a shot in the dark, but try saving your settings, and then resetting the settings by using Settings --> Manage Settings -->  Reset Settings.  If it skips with the default settings, then we will know that it is something other than a rogue setting.  If it does not skip with the default settings, try re-loading the prior settings with the file you saved to see if you can replicate the problem.

Markusonfire:
No, this hasnt worked, ive tried the default settings, i've even tried a fresh version of RB, but still does it.
any other ideas of what could be causing it?
